Explanation of The Commissioner's Cup
The Commissioner’s Cup Invitational is a single elimination tournament held after regular season play. The Invitational has been created to incentivize volunteer referees. Our referees keep the games fun, fair and safe and we couldn't hold a true season without them!
The following criteria needs to be met to be invited to the Commissioner’s Cup:
The amount of Referee Points required for each division varies based on the estimated availability of family members and/or players that can volunteer. For example, at the 14U / 15U level the players themselves are able (and encouraged) to become Youth Referees.
Please note that each division listed below has a total number of points required, as well as a minimum number of points required by Week 5 of our region's schedule: October 18th and 19th, 2024.
Division | Required Referee Points | Points required by Week 5 |
---|
8U | 5 points / team | 2 points / team |
10U | 10 points / team | 4 points / team |
12U | 14 points / team | 6 points / team |
14U / 15U | 23 points / team | 10 points / team
|
These point allocations ensure that all competitive games have adequate referee coverage for the season.

Invitational Seeding

Most wins (e.g. a record of 5-3-1 would qualify ahead of a team with a record of 4-2-4 even though both teams would have 16 points)
Fewest goals against.
Head-to-head result, if any.
Goal differential, limited to 5 per game.
Coin toss by the commissioner.
