What are Area Playoffs? Tournament between the 4 regions in Area 1S - Bullhead City, Summerlin, Pahrump, & Mountain’s Edge.
Format: 2 games on Saturday and 1 guaranteed game on Sunday. The teams in each pool with the most points at the end of the round robin will play in the championship and the 2nd most points will play in the consolation game.
The points will be tallied and kept by the snack bar. This is a brick building. Usually they sell snacks and then upstairs they have food for the referees. There are bathrooms available, a play structure and a large covered area.
Teams will need to check in on Saturday morning 40 minutes before their first game. You will check in with Melanie. At that time she will give coaches their official roster and game cards for every game of the weekend.
Player expectations:
Wear complete region issued uniform (jersey, shorts & socks). You may want to wash these Saturday night or purchase a 2nd set of socks.
Good sportsmanship on and off the field toward other teams. (no taunting, foul language, putting others down)
Positive interactions with referees.
Spectator expectations:
No pets whatsoever are allowed at the field.
Good sportsmanship and positive cheering toward players, coaches and referees.
No talking bad or putting other players or teams down.
Don’t talk to referees during or after the game. Take your concerns to the coach or to a board member.
Remember that you are representing our region - we have the kindest players, coaches, referees, parents and spectators - this is what we want to be known for!
Time change
The field is on AZ time, downtown Laughlin is on NV time. It is best to go into your phone settings and choose which time you want to go off of. If not, your phone will keep jumping back and forth and it can get very confusing and we don’t want anyone to miss anything.
Fun things
We would love everyone to wear ME t-shirts on Saturday. We have them for sale but won’t be bringing them to Bullhead. The last night to get them is Thursday night during parent meeting.
We encourage teams to do things together! Grab lunch and eat at a park, meet at a location to eat lunch. Saturday evening is a great time for the team to go to dinner or to Aquarius and go bowling or do laser tag. Make the most of this time together.
Noise makers are not allowed but it’s fun to bring pom poms or bring signs.
We encourage you to take time to cheer on other ME teams!
